2009 Press Room

May 8-9, 2009: Team Xtreme traveled to Williamsburg, Virginia to compete in the 2009 AAU Regional Qualifier.  Eleven athletes competed, securing 4 gold, 7 silver and 1 bronze medal. 

April 18-19, 2009:  Two members of our team traveled to Buffalo, New York to compete is the 2nd USAT Junior Olympic and National Qualifier.  Marcus Munday earned a Bronze medal in his division.  AJ Samba, a 10 year old team member took a Gold medal in the event.  Both athletes have secured their opportunity to compete in this years USAT Junior Olympics being held in Austin, Texas July 1-5, 2009. 

March 28, 2009:  Seven members of Team Xtreme traveled to Mays Landing, New Jersey to compete in the 2009 Mid Atlantic AAU National Qualifier.  The athletes garnered 5 Gold and 2 Silver medals with all athletes qualifying to compete in the 2009 AAU Nationals being held in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in July.

February 12-15, 2009:  Marcus Munday and Chris Roosevelt competed in the USA Taekwondo's 2009 U.S. Open which boasted the largest field in the history of the event. The event took place Feb. 12-15 at the Las Vegas Tropicana Hotel and  featured 1,900 athletes (surpassing the previous high of 1,637) as well as 461 coaches and 55 international referees.

60 different nations were represented, including 17 national teams and 13 Olympians from the 2008 Beijing Games.

Both of our athletes performed well competing in the 12-13 Black Belt Bantam weight division.  Congratulations to both Chris and Marcus.
